Weathering the Carnival

The organisers of Long Eaton Carnival are consulting LENS Chairman, Alan Heath’s weather records to try and find a suitable date for next year’s carnival.  The carnival is usually held in June but the weather has not been kind.  A September date was suggested.

Alan Heath says the weather has changed recently.  The jet stream has moved and is allowing in lows off the Atlantic.  It is not known why the jet stream has moved and it is not known when ‘normal’ weather will return.  The weather is unpredictable and it is not possible to predict which of the summer days (or even months) is most likely to have good weather.  The June Date is as good as any.
