Bat Walk at Fox Covert

Bat Walk at Fox Covert Nature Reserve, Friday 6th July – 9:30-11:00pm

Come and join Alan Wragg from the Derbyshire Bat Group and Marion Farrell from Groundwork Derby & Derbyshire for a guided evening stroll around Fox Covert nature reserve in Long Eaton looking for bats.

The event is free to attend to people of all ages and there’s no need to book a place.

We will be meeting at 9:30pm on Friday 6th July outside the entrance to West Park Leisure Centre – Wilsthorpe, Long Eaton, NG10 4AA. Come in warm clothes, sturdy shoes and bring a torch with you.

Marion Farrell, Groundwork Derby & Derbyshire’s Healthier Lifestyles Programme Co-Ordinator said: “Do join us on this evening’s free bat walk to discover hidden night time wildlife. We will bring bat detectors to be able to “hear” the bats as they fly past.

Fox Covert is one of 6 officially designated Local Nature Reserves in Erewash that is owned by Erewash Borough Council and managed by Groundwork Derby & Derbyshire. The sites are managed with a strong emphasis on involving local people wherever possible, raising awareness of the site and encouraging its use.
